The tubes are molded from premium-grade polypropylene. Polypropylene offers impact strength and stability against common acids, alkalies, and solvents. Polyethylene (PE) flanged plug caps (sold separately) provide exceptional leak resistance. They feature two flexible flanges that press firmly against the tubes' inner wall, thereby providing better leak resistance than standard plug caps. Translucent low-density polyethylene (LDPE) snap caps (sold separately) provide a liquid-tight seal and can be written on with indelible ink for easy sample identification. They are available in bright translucent colors for color coding and feature a single thumb tab for easy removal.
