The PanOptic ophthalmoscope is a revolutionary diagnostic tool that makes the inner eye and its functions completely accessible. The patented new Axial PointSource™ Optics illumination system converges the beamed light to a point at the cornea, allowing easy entry into small, undilated pupils. The illumination pathway then diverges to the retina, illuminating an area of the fundus five times wider than has ever previously been achieved in an undilated eye. This highly advanced viewing system enables clinicians to view the illuminated area on virtually the same axis, creating the widest field-of-view attainable. It allows practitioners to observe hypertension, diabetic retinopathy, and papilledema, amongst other conditions. It offers a 25º field of view and utilizes a patented Glare Extinguishing System to further optimize the tool's impressive visual capacity.

This brass handle is compatible with all 3.5v diagnostic instrument heads and features a smooth, non-abrasive knurled chrome-plated finish for a non-slip grip, durability, and easy use.  This NiCd battery-powered handle is compatible with Welch Allyn desk, stand, and wall chargers. The 60-minute handles are supplied with a rechargeable nickel-cadmium battery and can be configured to be C-Cell convertible.
